System Syn is a dark synthpop project founded by Clint Carney in 1997, with the first album released in 2004. Over the past two decades, the project has released ten full-length albums, toured internationally, and cultivated a dedicated global fanbase.
The music is dark, atmospheric, and deeply personal — blending pulsing electronics, textured synths, and Clint's distinctive vocals into something that sits at the intersection of synthpop, darkwave, and EBM. Every album explores emotional terrain with unflinching honesty, from the aggressive punch of Kill the Light to the cinematic sweep of Once Upon a Second Act.
All music is written and performed by Clint Carney. The live lineup features Tash Cox on keyboards and vocals, Scott Landes on guitar, and Steve Kefalas on drums.
System Syn has been released through Metropolis Records, Dependent Records, and independently. The project's catalog spans from the debut Premeditated (2004) through the latest release Kill the Light (2024), with each album pushing the sound further while staying rooted in the project's core identity.
